Pop-Up Pottery Opens for 2015 at the Smithy

Lochcarron based Artist & Potter, Vicky Stonebridge, with a long involvement with the Smithy site and LCDC activities, will be Opening up a temporary Pottery studio in the Smithy building for 2015. The former Heritage Centre building is awaiting funds for renovation, and has been unused for most of a decade. The Pottery will be a chance for locals and visitors to try their hand at clay work. It will be Opened on April 2nd, 10am to 5pm, the first pottery classes will be taster sessions in the Easter holidays, 9th and 16th April. Thereafter It will be open every Thursday and other days subject to class demand and group bookings. Vicky explains some of the background in her blog. She specialised in Ceramics ar Edinburgh College of Art where she obtained her BAhons. Since then she has had 26 years teaching experience. Running Balnacra Pottery from 1995 to 2005. She currently works Freelance on many art & design projects, including graphic novel work, art based support work with young people, and tutoring various classes and support needs groups, in Inverness and the highland area. The Pottery at the Smithy will fit in with many of the other activities at the Smithy Hub and be a great opportunity to breathe some life back into the Smithy, with Vicky doing what she loves best.
